Is It the Tap Water or the Humid Ocean Breezes?

My hairstylist always tames my hair straight and flat with nary a fluffy hair sticking out. Yet once I get home within 24 hours my hair has fluffed up about 4 times beyond how straight she flat ironed it. Sadness fills me as I try to flat iron it back into the smoothness my stylist achieved.  I never get it half as smooth. After a few days I figure maybe if I wash it and start fresh I can flatten it back into straightness. Alas, no luck. I tame the fluffy fuzziness down a little bit but it never gets back to the way my hair stylist had it looking.

Is the ocean increasing the fuzziness of my hair?

I’ve been wondering what makes the difference beyond her skill. I live in a beach town so maybe it’s the moistness in the air due to the nearness of the ocean. Or maybe it’s the hard water that comes out of the tap when I wash my hair? Either way my hair fluffs up. I’ve used coconut oil to keep my dry fuzzy hair soft but it does little to tame down my locks.

I’ve used a variety of hair products even ones my stylist uses on my hair and I still never get it as straight or smooth as she does. This makes me think it’s the tap water in my town or even the humidity in the air caused by the ocean waves less than a mile away from my home.  I think it might be both.

I do know fog has a horrible effect on my hair but not every day is foggy.Oh well, the struggle to manage my fuzzy hair continues.
